Anvisa aprova nova vacina para a dengue

A vacina Qdenga, da empresa Takeda, está indicada para uso entre 4 e 60 anos de idade.

Foi aprovada em 02/03/2023, por meio da Resolução RE 661, de 2 de março de 2023, o registro de uma nova vacina para a prevenção da dengue. A vacina Qdenga da empresa Takeda Pharma Ltda. é composta por quatro diferentes sorotipos do vírus causador da doença, conferindo assim uma ampla proteção contra esta enfermidade.

O produto está destinado à população pediátrica acima de 4 anos, adolescentes e adultos até 60 anos de idade. Estará disponível para administração via subcutânea em esquema de duas doses, com intervalo de 3 meses entre as aplicações.

Na avaliação clínica da vacina foi demonstrada uma eficácia geral de 80,2% contra a dengue causada por qualquer sorotipo e independente de situação sorológica de base para dengue (indivíduos soropositivos e soronegativos) em 12 meses após administração da vacina.

A demonstração da eficácia da vacina Qdenga tem suporte principalmente nos resultados de um estudo de larga escala, estudo de fase 3, randomizado e controlado por placebo, conduzido em países endêmicos para dengue com o objetivo de avaliar a eficácia, segurança e imunogenicidade da vacina.

A vacina Qdenga também foi avaliada pela agência sanitária européia (EMA), tendo recebido uma recomendação positiva no âmbito do programa “EU Medicines for all”, um mecanismo que permite a avaliação de medicamentos que se destinam a ser utilizados em países de baixa e média renda fora da União Europeia (UE), e tendo sua comercialização aprovada na União Europeia em 20/12/2022.

Durante a análise técnica realizada pela Anvisa, realizou-se um painel para a discussão de alguns pontos do processo de registro com especialistas do país que detém notório saber sobre a doença. Essa discussão ocorreu em 10/01/2023 e em seguida os especialistas apresentaram um Parecer opinativo sobre o produto e sobre as condições de uso pleiteadas pela empresa, com o objetivo de subsidiar a análise realizada pelos técnicos da Agência.

A concessão do registro pela Anvisa permite a comercialização do produto no país, desde que mantidas as condições aprovadas. A vacina, contudo, segue sujeita ao monitoramento de eventos adversos por meio de ações de farmacovigilância sob a responsabilidade da empresa.

A vacina Qdenga é a primeira aprovada no Brasil para um público mais amplo (de 4 a 60 anos de idade). A vacina aprovada anteriormente (Dengvaxia) só pode ser utilizada por quem já teve dengue.
